Lasse Tarp and Jesper Jensen started out as The Youth by doing a couple of remixes for some of their friends, but with their first demo half a year later they’d already caught the attention of one of Denmark’s biggest music medias, Soundvenue.

”Just like their French colleagues in The Teenagers, these boys’ music was conceived through a leaky condom filled with cocky, electrified indie music, synthetic drums and hand claps, solid dozes of sharp-cut bass lines and self-confident boyish attitude."’

The lyrics are simple and usually about more or less unfortunate love and whatever goes on when you’re 19 and in love with cigarettes and alcohol. They pretty much nail the essence themselves with the line:

”Well, I guess you were right: Dance more, sing more, drink more, fuck more.”

At live shows the boys bring their guitar, bass guitar and computer to take care of the beats. Lasse’s vocals are constantly rattling somewhere in between mad and genious while Jesper backs up with both howling yeahs and sensitive harmonies.
